The original was hand crafted using pigmented encaustic medium and pigment sticks to embellish and highlight the wax features. This premium art print card includes an envelope and artwork details on the reverse side. It is based on a unique and original encaustic artwork called “Shoes Off” by Canadian artist Vicki Sullivan.

Encaustic pictures are produced by using a blow torch to fuse layers of pigmented wax to a birch panel. This is an incredibly tactile artform, viewers will want to reach out and touch all that beautiful waxy texture. The nature of beeswax allows the artist to sculpt out details in bas-relief style, scrape back layers to reveal the history hidden beneath. and use textured molds to create various effects: it is amazingly versatile!
